Students and educators are encouraged to visit Education Day and immerse themselves in all things sustainable. Activities are available for K-12 ages to learn and grow in their understanding of the ocean and our native environment.
This also extends to their future career opportunities, college/continued education, STEM-focused programs, and more.
All faculty and organizers need to Register for Education Day.
Attendance is free. Special thanks to the Orange County Power Authority for covering parking costs for all buses.
Education Day Highlights
Education Day is an exclusive field trip day for K-12 students in surrounding districts to tour the OCSD and participate in STEAM-related activities. Some activities available during Education Day include:
- Touring the OCSD’s student-built homes
- Visiting the Wyland Foundation’s Clean Water Mobile Learning Experience
- Build-a-home with the Child Creativity Lab
- Observe the Dream Big program by the Orange County Department of Education
- View multiple environmental documentaries
- Learn about sustainable gardens

All local Southern California schools and programs can attend Education Day. Please Register for Education Day by September 22, 2023.
Transportation
Faculty are encouraged to go through the proper channels at their schools to obtain transportation for their students to the OC Sustainability Decathlon.

Meals
Food vendors are available on-site for purchasing snacks, meals and beverages.
