“OC World,” the public affairs program on L.A. PBS affiliate KLCS, recently devoted an entire episode to the Orange County Sustainability Decathlon. The episode featured interviews with several prominent figures, including State Sen. Dave Min, Cal State Fullerton College of Engineering Dean Susan Barua, and Orange County Sustainability Decathlon President Fred Smoller.
The Orange County Sustainability Decathlon is a competition that challenges collegiate teams to design and build energy-efficient, sustainable homes. The inaugural event will take place October 5-15, 2023, at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif.
During the episode of “OC World,” viewers heard from State Sen. Dave Min, who spoke about the importance of sustainable living and the role that events like the decathlon play in promoting it.
Cal State Fullerton College of Engineering Dean Susan Barua discussed the college’s involvement in the decathlon and the ways in which it supports sustainable engineering practices. Orange County Sustainability Decathlon President Fred Smoller shared his vision for the future of sustainable living and how the decathlon can help make that vision a reality.
