Rancho Cielo Wins 2023 Orange County Sustainability Decathlon

The Orange County Sustainability Decathlon is thrilled to announce the winner of its inaugural competition: Rancho Cielo Youth Campus of Salinas, Calif. This remarkable institution, dedicated to serving underserved youth, not only left a strong impression on the judges but also excelled in performance-based verifications. Rancho Cielo’s winning house, aptly named Nexus, is defined by a commitment to sustainable design and a dynamic spirit of collaboration. Their team wholeheartedly embraces the possibilities inherent in sustainable, resilient, and forward-thinking construction design. “This is an incredible Cinderella story. OCSD General Information

Admission is free, but we encourage you to register for the app here.

*Note: The village will remain open to enjoy until 9PM. Home tours conclude at 4PM on weekends.

Education Day is an exclusive field-trip day for K-12 students in surrounding districts to tour the OCSD and participate in STEAM-related activities.

The Career and College Fair is an opportunity for jobseekers and prospective students to explore sustainability-related jobs and academic programs recruiting talented and passionate people to join their efforts in the fight against climate change

Attend the 2023 Orange County Sustainability Decathlon

The fairgrounds parking fee is $12 per car. Save and go green by OC Bus, powered by renewable energy and part of OCTA’S commitment to a balanced, equitable, and sustainable transportation network. 

Food and beverages are available for purchase in the village and beer gardens.

Bold Ideas Build Brighter Futures

The Orange County Sustainability Decathlon challenges university teams to design and build model solar-powered homes that address climate change and California’s housing needs. OCSD teams will showcase innovative, market-ready model homes to display in a sustainable village which will be open to the public.
